APC Dominican Republic's Program Director Receives Recognition on International Women's Day

Angela De Leon Navarro, the Programmatic Director of the Advancing Partners and Communities (APC) project in the Dominican Republic, received recognition on International Women's Day from the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD) for her commitment as a faculty member at the School of Journalism. De Leon was a professor for 30 years at UASD, before joining APC. In the Dominican Republic, APC works to increase access to high quality HIV/AIDS services for key populations—men who have sex with men, transgender persons, and sex workers. De Leon holds a degree in journalism with postgraduate studies in communication planning, and HIV/AIDS project evaluation.
