Through a grant awarded under Advancing Partners & Communities (APC), WellShare International advances CBA2I programming by scaling-up access to CBA2I services in Uganda through capacity building, training and mentoring, and sharing lessons learned with stakeholders. The project works closely with government officials to ensure country ownership and sustainability of activities.
Through a grant awarded under APC, WellShare International integrates family planning (FP) services into their SHAP project to improve the social environment for FP services and positive reproductive health behaviors in the Arua District of Uganda. The project increases access to and knowledge of FP and improves the quality of FP services in the region.

WellShare applies a holistic approach that builds effective partnerships, engages community health workers to bridge the gap between communities and the formal health sector, rigorously evaluates outcomes, and promotes long-term sustainability. WellShare reaches its goal of healthy people through a focus on health education, transfer of simple technologies, and connecting people to timely and appropriate health resources.
Through a grant awarded under Advancing Partners & Communities (APC), the Salvation Army World Service Office integrates family planning (FP) into the Sustainable and Comprehensive Responses for Vulnerable Children and Their Families Project (SCORE) and the activities of Salvation Army World Service Office corps. Through the training and support of community-based distribution agents (CBDAs) and youth peer educators (YPEs) combined with mobile outreach events, SAWSO promotes increased knowledge of and access to FP services in the community.
The Salvation Army World Service Office (SAWSO) supports and strengthens The Salvation Army’s efforts to work hand in hand with communities to improve the health, economic, and spiritual conditions of vulnerable populations worldwide. SAWSO provides HIV/AIDS and community health services, disaster relief, and economic strengthening activities. They also offer seminars to raise awareness and train community members to eliminate human trafficking.
Through a grant awarded by Advancing Partners & Communities (APC), ChildFund aims to reduce unnecessary separation of children from their families, and to place children outside of family care in nurturing families.

This study examined factors related to community health workers (CHWs) motivation and level of activity in three family planning programs in Uganda. In the face of global health worker shortages, CHWs are an important health care delivery strategy for underserved populations. In Uganda, community-based programs often use volunteer CHWs to extend services, including family planning, in rural areas.
