Community Health Matters Focus Area:

Through a grant awarded under Advancing Partners & Communities (APC), United Bricklayers targets key populations including men who have sex with men (MSM) and female sex workers (FSW) in Regions 5 and 6 of Guyana to reduce the spread of HIV. The organization provides peer education, condom and lubricant promotion and distribution, risk assessment and reduction, and economic strengthening activities. Additionally, United Bricklayers offers referrals for screening, care and treatment, voluntary counseling and testing (VCT), and behavior change activities. These behavior change activities include support groups and capacity building sessions designed to address stigma and discrimination and impart skills that will provide alternative means of income generation.

Community Health Matters Focus Area:

Through a grant awarded under Advancing Partners & Communities (APC), United Bricklayers targets key populations including men who have sex with men (MSM) and female sex workers (FSW) in Regions 5 and 6 of Guyana to reduce the spread of HIV. The organization prevents the spread of HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted infections in Regions 5 and 6 of Guyana by targeting prevention activities at the most at risk populations. These prevention activities include sessions and workshops focusing on peer education and outreach, risk education counseling, support groups, economic strengthening, and awareness. United Bricklayers also provides referrals for key affected populations to hospitals and other health clinics.
