GM-0029: Wheelchair Service Development Project

Through a grant awarded under Advancing Partners & Communities (APC), World Vision strengthens the consistency and sustainability of wheelchair service provision in Kenya, India, Romania, El Salvador, and Nicaragua. The Accelerating Core Competencies for Effective Wheelchair Service and Support (ACCESS) project bolsters the management and service capacity of local partners through stakeholder engagement and mobilization and local and national level advocacy efforts. By diversifying the range of available wheelchair products, World Vision fosters an enabling environment toward effective wheelchair service and management. Additionally, World Vision trains wheelchair service personnel to increase the human resource capacity for quality wheelchair service delivery in each country.

GM-0061: Leahy War Victims Fund TEAM Project

Community Health Matters Focus Area:

Through a grant awarded under Advancing Partners & Communities (APC), World Vision will enable more than 1,900 people with disabilities including victims of war, especially women and girls, to attain and maintain maximum independence. The project will catalyze and invest in existing government and NGO initiatives to remove key barriers to improved service provision in the short and long term with a special focus on women and girls. Additonally, the project will improve medical and rehabilitation training and service delivery and widen geographic coverage to support the current USAID Community-Based Rehabilitation program.
