Community Health Matters Focus Area:

Through grants awarded under Advancing Partners & Communities (APC), Comforting Hearts continues to provide care and support and education services to vulnerable populations in Regions 5 and 6 of the Berbice Region of Guyana. The program targets PLHIV, OVC, men who have sex with men (MSM), female sex workers (FSW), loggers, and miners. Through anti-discrimination campaigns, as well as community outreach, peer education and support, and skills building programs, Comforting Hearts aims to reduce stigma and increase awareness throughout the region. Furthermore, the organization offers risk reduction counseling, access to male and female condoms and lubrication, and instruction on correct use and storage of these products.
