Grantee:
HI enables people with disabilities, especially women and girls, living in the DRC’s capital, Kinshasa, and Kananga, the provincial capital of Kassaï Occidental Province, to attain and maintain maximum independence to fully participate in all aspects of life. The program will contribute to both the quality and quantity of devices and rehabilitation services now available to persons with disabilities living in Kinshasa and Kananga. By project’s end, the Rehabilitation Department of the Kinshasa General Hospital will have an orthotic workshop and ten newly trained category 2 orthotic technicians will be available to staff it and other centers in the capital city.
