CHW Central - A Global Resource For Community Health Workers

CHW Central, launched in 2011, is an online community of practice managed by Initiatives Inc. As the only site dedicated to supporting community health workers (CHWs) and CHW programs, CHW Central provides a forum for online discussions and exchanges with public health professionals and program managers, policy makers and CHWs in the United States and across the globe. We aim to strengthen support for CHWs through up-to-date resources, evidence–based practices, research and tools, news about upcoming events and the potential for exchanging information among members. Our 20 US-based and international partner organizations support our efforts to provide resources and features on the changing role of CHWs.

Our constantly growing database can be filtered by geographical area, topic, and resource type. Our resources include diverse topics, such as community involvement, assessment, and ICCM and tools for family planning, gender issues, and MNCH. Those working in the field will find resources for supporting and measuring the impact of CHW programs in the CHW Reference Guide as well as the Community Health Worker Assessment and Improvement Matrix (CHW AIM) Tool Kit.

CHW Central is updated daily to display relevant CHW news, events, and webinars both in the U.S. and globally. Follow us on Twitter and Facebook, and subscribe to our newsletter.
